What are “cookies”?
Cookies are short text files sent from a website to the user’s web browser. Every time the page is visited again, cookies are re-sent to the site that originated them (first-party cookies) or to another website that recognises them (third-party cookies). Cookies are useful, because they allow websites to identify the user’s device, and have several functionalities, such as allowing the visitor to surf efficiently through pages, remembering favourite websites and improving the web browsing experience. They also contribute to guaranteeing that the advertising material is better targeted and more in line with user’s interests (targeting cookies).
Cookies can last for just one session and get automatically disabled when the user close the browser; they can also have an expiration date and, until then, they remain active in the user’s device, collecting data session after session.
Information and data can be collected and saved in the user’s device via other technologies, such as pixels. In this document, “cookies” will be referred both to cookies and to other technologies.
You can manage your cookie preferences anytime from here:
The cookies used on the Rinascente website are described below.
4.1 Social Media links
There are links on the site that depict social network icons (eg Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and that refer to the Rinascente accounts on the social networks depicted. The use of these links does not imply the exchange of information with these sites. The management of information and how to delete it is regulated by them: the user is invited to consult the respective privacy policies of each of the sites in question:
Enabling and disabling cookies is your choice
We do not use behavioural advertising cookies (targeting cookies) that profile users’ web browsing habits.

Please note that if you modify or personalise the cookie preferences, you will need to change the settings on each device and for every web browser you use to browse the Internet.
There are advertising networks that allow to refuse targeted advertising; this does not stop downloading cookies, but it stops the collection and use of some data by subjects that take part in these networks. Some of the third parties that install cookies on Rinascente.it could not have taken part in those networks, so their use does not guarantee that you won’t receive third-party cookies. In order to allow the website to function properly, take advantage of its functionality and use it in its entirety, we recommend accepting the use of both first- and third-party cookies.
