Design, innovation and formal simplicity are the main features of the intensive renovation project that has involved, since 2005, the greatest international celebrities of avant-garde architecture: Studio Cibic & Partners, Andrea Griletto, Vincent Van Duysen, the London based studio HMKM, Mumbai Studio, Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands group, Dordoni Architetti studio, 1+1=1 Claudio Silvestrin Giuliana Salmaso architects, Ferruccio Laviani, Flavio Albanese, Nendo. All of them are famous for their prestigious collections and portfolios, which include some of the trendiest clubs and stores all over the world.

Works began in January 2006 and have transformed the facade, the shop windows, the ground floor and mezzanine - devoted to beauty and accessories, the second floor with its menswear collections, both formal and upper casual, the third floor with contemporary women's wear, the fifth floor with children fashion and lingerie.


The FOOD HALL opens in 2007, transforming the seventh floor in a new area, entirely devoted to gourmet food and divided in corners managed by different partners, following a catering concept that is new to the Italian market. In fact, for the first time it will be possible to choose, in the same area, among My Sushi sushi bar, YN Wine bar, Moët&Chandon Champagne Bar’s oysters and champagne, Obicà mozzarella bar, the historical sandwich bar De Santis, Maio restaurant, Be-Steak where you can taste the best cuts of the finest meat, the Juice Bar, the lounge bar Il Bar and a food market with a thousand of the most sophisticated gourmet products.

The Design Supermarket was born in 2009, a new basement with 200 new brands and 2000 square meters entirely devoted to house and lifestyle, where buying design products is as natural as going to the supermarket. The offer is extremely varied and includes: microelectronics, lighting, luggage and travel items, kitchen and tableware, North European design, technological gadgets, decor and small pieces of furniture, books.

2011 is the year of men’s fashion with the first floor refurbishment and the addition of top lines from the most prestigious brands in the business. The commercial offer has widened, adding designer brands, together with a selection of contemporary brands and premium denim. The new floor also includes an area devoted to smart casual fashion and a prestigious shoes corner. The project was signed by Mumbai Studio and conveys all the creative excellence that has given the Indian studio international acknowledgement. The aim is to encourage a personal rather than anonymous approach to shopping, thanks to an elegant but also welcoming lay out which creates a pleasant atmosphere, thanks to warm and snug materials and furniture, attracting attention thanks to the beauty of their details.

The transformation process has also involved the other points of sale. Roma Piazza Fiume, Roma Galleria A. Sordi, Firenze, Cagliari, and Padova have been renovated following the strategic guidelines that aim to reposition the brand.

In the heart of Palermo, in via Roma Flavio Albanese has designed a completely new, avant-garde department store. 5000 sq m, 5 floors devoted to fashion, accessories, beauty, house ware, design and gourmet food. The Food Hall on floor 4 and 5 represents a real novelty for the city with its scenic terraces and a wide choice of gastronomic delights by Obicà Mozzarella bar.


New women fashion in Milan.
The flagship store in piazza Duomo revolutionizes women's wear, thanks to the 4th floor renovation by Studio Nendo, with the introduction of new, prestigious products, especially contemporary brands and high end designers. The 3rd floor also presents a new offer, with a renovated Classic Brand-Mix and a larger area devoted to shoes: from 440 sq m to 800 sq m. New arrivals blend in with the brands that are already available to create an innovative and across-the-board mix. Ideal for a contemporary and captivating multi-brand shopping experience.


The new Food Hall on floor 6 of la Rinascente in Cagliari opened in September 2014. Here you can choose from the Pomod’Oro restaurant, which celebrates the best traditional gastronomy of Romagna, the Bamboo restaurant that serves refined fusion and pan Asian dishes, the Sesto Lounge bar for before and after dinner drinks and a food market with the best Made-in-Italy gourmet food. While on the ground floor you can find Barca, the new café with sweet and savoury delicacies.


The new annex la Rinascente Milan opened at via Santa Radegonda 10 in November 2014. Two floors entirely dedicated to girls with over 300 cult brands from the worlds of fashion, accessories, beauty and make-up. Third floor dedicated to collections of textiles opened in February 2015
